My apologies for writing at such a late time but I’m sure that you can appreciate the gravity and short notice of the Prime Minister’s announcement this evening.
As from tomorrow the school will operate remotely except for the children of key workers, vulnerable children and children who attend the pre-school. If you feel that your child is in one of these categories and you would like your child to attend school please let us know at your very earliest convenience so that we may put things in place.
Online learning will begin tomorrow but will be very “pedestrian” tasks with no live teaching to enable staff to prepare properly. I will put a link on your child’s Google Classroom stream so that you can attend an online meeting at 2pm tomorrow with myself and Miss Gardner to go over what online learning will look like. I have included with this letter timetables and an overview of online to help you support your child and understand how it may work.
If you require the use of a school Chromebook, please ensure that you have returned the paperwork that was sent out before Christmas and you will be able to collect the device from school.
As ever, thank you all for your support in these uncertain times and if you need any extra information please do not hesitate to contact me.

Safeguarding Alert from Cornwall School Messenger
Together for Families have been made aware of the following safeguarding concerns:
- There have been incidents locally of children being groomed through Snapchat and an online platform called Omegle. There have been 3 cases reported and they appear to have connections to others in their school and other schools. Police and social services are involved.
- There has been a local incident with a hack on the game Roblox. It appears that players are invited to open a gift which is a camera. This then takes a photo and is then shared with other users. This has also involved a child potentially being groomed. Police are involved.
As always we are here for any advice, there is also specific internet safeguarding information available on the school website.
